3rd Bramshill Scout Group
"Be Prepared!"
Welcome to the 3rd Bramshill (Yateley Green) Scout Group. When a young person joins the great 'worldwide Scout movement' their parents or carers automatically become a member of the Group's 'Scout Council', the supporters club of the Scout Group. So as well as ‘welcoming’ your child(ren) to the Scout Group, we also welcome YOU as parents or carer to the Scout Group, and trust you will also enjoy being a part of Scouting.
It seems strange to have ‘Yateley Green’ in our title, but the Scout Group originally met at an old brick & wood hut in the grounds of the ‘Old School’ or ‘Village Hall’ along side the green … hence ‘Yateley Green’.
Now, our Scout Headquarters or 'Lodge' is off Monteagle Lane, Yateley, adjacent to the 'Red Cross HQ'.
We are the 3rd Bramshill (Yateley Green) Scout Group … which has:
-
a BEAVER Scout Colony (for the 6 to 8½ year old children)
-
a CUB Scout Pack (for the 8 to 10½ year old children)
-
and a SCOUT Troop (for the 10 to 14½ year old children)
Between 14 & 15 year of age our young people go on to a District Explorer Scout Unit which is the section for young people between 14 to 18. There is then the Scout Networkfor the 18 to 25 year olds.
Within Scouting there is the Active Support Unit which is open to any person over 18 years of age (with or without a Scouting or Guiding background) who is willing to support scouting in some way.
We are a part of the 'Bramshill Scout District' which comprises of 7 Scout Groups in Hawley, Frogmore, Yateley, Harley Wintney, Hook and Rotherwick. The Bramshill District is then part of the Hampshire County Scout Association.
All sections of the Scout Group are now 'open' to boys and girls, men and women.
The Scout Group is managed by an elected committee comprising of parent volunteers and the uniformed Section Leaders. Without such committed volunteers your children's groups would be unable to run.
