London Trip

At the Tate ModernWe arranged a half-term outing for the Scouts on Wednesday 26th October to visit The Tower Bridge Exhibition, London and also a short visit to Tate Modern.

Three leaders and six Scouts met at Fleet station and went into London by train. The outing offered a valuable opportunity for the Scouts to experience the amazing views from the Bridge's Walkways and also to see the stunning and beautiful Steam Engines that once raised the bridge. With the EnginesThe exhibition now tells the amazing story of how and why the bridge was built, whilst allowing them to explore the architecture and design that make Tower Bridge so unique. All of them played Deck Quoits and won little prizes and also followed a trail collecting stickers for their 'Passport'.

We had lunch at Hay's Gallery, spent 10 minutes shopping and wandered around to see the full sized model version of The Cutty Sark. Returning to the South Bank we walked alongside the Thames taking in the views of HMS Belfast, Tower of London, St Paul's and The Globe Theatre before arriving for a couple of hours visit to Tate Modern.
